Leadership Role

As Chairman and CEO, Ed will continue to foster Board leadership with a single-minded purpose - value-creating governance. He will also focus on building a strong Executive Team, support the Wescast participative management style and pursue the development and execution of strategy to ensure long-term viability and profitability. The strategy will be focused on growing our customer base, expanding our product mix, and establishing our business in strategic geographical markets.

Background

A Board member of Wescast since 1992 and Corporate Secretary from 1994 to 2003, Ed was appointed Executive Chairman in 2003. He assumed the permanent role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in May, 2004. Before joining Wescast, Ed was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of First Canadian Title, a title insurance company he helped build and strategically grow to a great success. Ed began his career as an associate lawyer and later became Partner at the law firm of Lang, Michener in Toronto.

He presently is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations.
